Victoria Peak, Hong Kong - the night view from my spot at the Peak / Favourite image no. 1
Words cannot really describe how incredibly beautiful the view is at my spot at the Peak at night... it really does take your breath away.
I am so lucky that I have a camera that has a setting for night images without a tripod ( a real USP for Sony.) the results can be quite extraordinary.
Obviously it helps if you have a clear night which does happen more often than not and I find the best time to take the shot is between 8pm and 9pm, the lights are at the brightest and darkness can be inky black giving a really nice contrast.
This should really be in your top 5 of things to do in Hong Kong and naturally I can make it happen., your personal Hong Kong Tour starts right here.....

Victoria Peak, Hong Kong - The iconic Peak Tram / Favourite image no. 2
This is the Peak Tram, the iconic Peak Tram should I say that transports 100 people at a time up and down, to and from Victoria Peak in Hong Kong. I should point out that these days I always refer to it as the Peak.
The good:- it is iconic, it is a 10 minute ride, the track is steep enough to make you grin and it is just interesting....
The bad:- the lines / queues - for most of the day and night you can easily wait for 1 to 2 hours to get on the tram and forget weekends and public holidays, the lines are crazy and it is both ways, there are many ways to skip the line for the Peak Tram but you need the know that there are quite a few companies offering this service and quite often the line for the Skip the Line is longer than the regular line!! and note that the service is only to go up!! so you can imagine the hassle coming down.
Klook can be the worst offender for the Skip the Line Peak Tram ticket, they can have between 50 - 150 people in the group!!
One simple tip that works just fine from 9am - 3pm, simply take a taxi to the Peak and take the tram down however all bets are off for taking the tram down after 3pm, again you can easily wait for 1 - 2 hours.
This begs the question - is it worth it.? the tram is iconic, that is not in dispute, I love going on the tram but I simply do not think it is worth the wait for a 10 minute ride and although the Peak Tram Co. has approval to start fixing the problem by increasing tram frequency and making the trams bigger, it will be a minimum of about 2 years before this comes into being.

Victoria Peak, Hong Kong - Victoria Peak Garden / Favourite image no. 3
There are a number of phrases that I hate (in my capacity as a Private Tour Guide in Hong Kong)
Hidden Gems
Insider tips / knowledge
Off the beaten track
I really wish there were other phrases which did not sound like a cheesy cliche but in this case both of them are quite apt when referring to Victoria Peak Garden.
The fun way to get there is the really pleasant 40 minute (ish) walk, basically walking uphill on Mount Austin Road or for those who might find this a little much catch a taxi from underneath the Peak Galleria.
It really is worth it, particularly on a sunny, warm day - to see what I mean simply click on the link below and view all of my images of Victoria Peak Garden... and yes, you can always make it a special request if you book one of my Private Tours of Hong Kong.
Oh my golly gosh, the simply amazing Pagani Zonda Absolute - this is a custom made car and is rumoured to be the only one of it's kind in the world and it is in Hong Kong!... oh... and yes, this is my picture, talk about being in the right place at the right time.
